Git Shell Panel
Use and recover the unified repository and GitHub notification panel.
The timmo.git Omarchy Shell plugin combines managed repository state and GitHub notifications in one primary-output bar widget and native panel.
Open and refresh
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
CTRL+ALT+G |
Toggle the panel |
CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+G |
Open Other repositories directly |
| Left click | Toggle the panel |
| Right click | Refresh repository and notification state |
Open or refresh it from a terminal with:
omarchy-shell shell toggle timmo.git
omarchy-shell timmo.git refresh
The widget stays hidden when tracked repositories are clean and the GitHub inbox has no unread threads. Hovering the bar reveals its clean-state icons. A question mark indicates that one of the data sources could not be refreshed.
Panel actions
The overview lists changed repositories, an Other repositories link, filtered GitHub notification threads, and a footer link to the GitHub inbox. Selecting a repository lets you pull it or open lazygit, an editor, an agent launcher, a terminal, or GitHub. Press Ctrl+P from the repository action list to pull with rebase and update its submodules. Open in agent lists agents whose Herdr integrations are installed (OpenCode 2 first when present, then OpenCode 1 and other integrations such as Cursor or Pi). Editor, agent, and terminal actions reuse a matching Herdr workspace through dot herdr-repo-open when the shared Herdr server is running; without Herdr they open an ordinary tiled terminal.
Lazygit modifiers from the repository action list:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Enter | Open lazygit in a new Herdr pane (or tiled terminal without Herdr) |
Ctrl+Enter |
Open lazygit in a focused Lazygit tab |
Shift+Enter |
Open lazygit in a short-lived floating terminal |
Other repository actions start in a focused named tab when Herdr is available. Selecting a notification opens its GitHub URL.
Type to filter every visible action and row. Enter on a repository opens its action list. Use Up/Down to move, Backspace to edit the filter or return to the previous page, Escape to clear or close, and Tab to move to the next bar panel.
Data sources
While the shell is running, the service polls these structured commands every minute and preloads the full repository snapshot after the faster bar scan:
dot git-diff --bar-json
dot git-diff --panel-json
dot git-notifications --bar-json
Opening the panel uses the preloaded snapshot instead of starting another scan. Refreshes run in the background, and the panel keeps the last successful repository list visible if a refresh fails.
Repository and notification visibility follows the private dot-git.yml configuration. GitHub notifications require an authenticated gh token with the notifications or repo scope.
Troubleshooting
Run each source directly when the panel shows an unavailable state:
dot git-diff --bar-json
dot git-notifications --bar-json
Then request a fresh panel poll:
omarchy-shell timmo.git refresh
If the panel does not open, confirm that the plugin is discovered and summon it directly:
omarchy-shell shell listPlugins
omarchy-shell shell summon timmo.git
